Ubuntu Phone
the tl:dr is crap gui, nice filesystem, good hardware, android bits everywhere, much hope(prayers) for future gui/os forks.
3ma got stripped for race bike bits, forgot how gorgeous it is under the plastic.
2xt rear rim finally installed, ted seems to be serious about going track-daying, next will have to start the yzf, but next week i’ll be off drugs again, that means another three weeks until i get the mental game into fix bikes gear.
Nearly there!
looking lovely in the sunshine.
Got it spinning over, but the closer i look at the loom the worse it gets, it seems a dodgy starter relay to me, but to the PO it looked like a dead battery, so he applied enough voltage and current to melt a few (not shown) spade connectors and wires
Welded up the clock cage, then took it off along with the upper fairing stay and the bars ends for painting. Really glad those bar ends are there, i hate the high frequency vibes from un-weighted bars and i haven’t seen this type of thread in one before, hard to find?
Welding was super awesome easy with my new auto darkening helmet, might never weld with mig again π
Took a picture this time to prove where these bits are, no losing them like the top yoke!
YZF on it’s wheels
No scratchs! also is that sunshine? weird..
bleeding brake lazy style.
there is a soundtrack for this pic:
wheels of fire

needs a better pics but you get the idea π
track day on schedule!
Weel foook! so that was where the yzf bits were, hiding under a bunch of camper gear stuff, who put that shit there?
Once it’s on the wheels, i’ll roll it down to the real shed and weld it up.
Lucky teds is doing the painting, coz i’d have the tyre on all ready and all the paint chipped.
whats left? put on tyre, test drive.
racing fiftys and restoring 7fiftys
So nifty fifty 2015 race report, it’s not good people, first i got a camping stove so that i wouldn’t smoke out brahams van. then brahams van died, so i stayed in a B&B with stephen.
morning of the race..
race was a complete fail. the transponder was flaky, the tyres had 30psi in them from the new years day run, i fell off, braham fell off, i was 7 seconds off, dropped tyre pressure to 24psi instead of 20 thinking the tyre was hot, not quite enough but better, at the end of the day i took the last 15 minutes of the race and got down to a 1.32, still two seconds off but lessons learned for next year.
Next important thing is the fix up the yzf750, gotta do some trackdays, yzf is perfect.
Decided to change the front wheel, i knew it was cracked and had been welded very well, but it leaked and anywho i had a better wheel. Also reason to change from badly painted orange wheel to yellow, mismatched lurid wheels are so 90’s right?
no contest in the end there was only one yellow at halfords and i can’t be arsed to go any further, on with the white primer and soon on with the fiat bloom yellow.
More bits lost, fucking clueless as to where everything is. they have to be in a bucket somewhere!
this upper bar is supposed to be horizontal as far as i can tell from yamaha brochures. i’ll weld it up when it’s back on its wheels and the body work is going on
Future bajacorsa tube bumper?
more race bike prep
Older by another year! least the cake was awesome.
More cub prep, fitted the upper bushings for the shocks, no more floating about the place. Stuck on the race numbers, cunningly modifying the bracket to hide our Γβhlins TTX shocks.
Should i wash it for the race? note in the shade to the left there an ominous rubber ring hanging off the side cover…
Feck. wanted honda p50 head lamp lens, 100 bloody euro on ebay.
Sarge: race ya? Me: hells ya.
Cork Toy Run 2014 & and some nifty fifty tweaks
I would pay Γ’βΒ¬1000 for patina like that! as long as i got the gsxr1100 attached.
Cork toy run 2014, really nice fireblade here, but only got two good photos, aprillia swingarm, fiull spec ohlins forks

Urals?
Other ninetys on the run
Really nicely engineered trike, check out the rear camber adjuster and the front wheel, not sure what’s happing there.
Back home dirty. think i’ll clean it before the race.
One job done the day after, gotta tuck that rear brake lever in.
Was raining by the time i finished, also drilled the pedal, for lightness π
Ought to make up at least one position per lap now at dunlop π
Mega updatesZ!
No excuses I’ve been doing feck all.
Got Married and now i have a proper welding mask, wedding gifts don’t come better.
Also a lathe turned up, nope it’s not working yet π
Took the motor out of the dominator for the GB400, supposed to take the CR gearbox out of the GB and put it in the 650, i’m all for just swap and go playing!
In other news i got this for free… i may have been robbed… (figure of speech mum, your car is lovely!)
Picture do not show ‘orrible hub caps. Recognize the grey paint?
Leaks in the rear, fixed by making a rubber gasket out of a car mat.
Leaking in the front fixed by liberal application of cheap army surplus store stuff. Yes i breath through that pollen filter.
Bit dead that one..
Looking at the stut tops up there and the rear axle..
I have a new found respect for the x10xe, it seems to be pulling the remains of a vectra A/cavalier C. I.E. a fucking huge fat car.
If i fit Vectra rear springs and dampers, Corsa Combo font struts, a winch, some 620mm winter knoblies with the archs cut up and disconnect the EPS, i should feel right at home π
Sunroof is a prime spot for a turret too π
Lastly (that i can remember anyway) is the yzf750, i got some cheap forks and a non busted front wheel. the fork as a bit shite but they don’t leak and a change of oil and some fine tuning of the chome (wet n’ dry ftw) should see the yzf bombing about the place looking oh so 90’s.
That would be, if i could find where the feck i put the top yoke!
also the XL250K3? yep that runs π
Sparkly Sparks
Fixed up the wiring loom, removed the indicators and hot wired the ignition, got spark! gotta work and stuff for next couple of days so the first start will be on monday, right after i score some cheap or even second hand oil. (much flushing to do)
Would love to have this dt400 on the road instead,
Nope. if the engine was less smashed this would make a awesome motard, with rg125 suspension/wheels. Next time.
Rob the front mudguard, almost a perfect fit for the xl. so nice i nearly got caught up in cleaning it but quickly stopped myself. will make a bracket after the engine rattles to life.
moloch now has three cores and an awesome profile shot:
Zero titles given.
Xl’s carb is clean, all thats left before i attempt to start it is one wire and some engine oil.
Took the thicker bros 400 top tee piece to use with the cbr,
Gave it a lick of paint, this will fit on my cbr and give me Mx bars. where to attach them is a whole other problem.
