Tail and headlights. Micra with blown distributor.

Got this off an early xt350, bout the right size and turned upside down matches the angle of the tail piece.

Headlight will be a shallow spot I again dug up in the garden.

will mount on a quick remove bracket to to the side like an endurance racer. will be stuck on high all the time but it allways was anyway, 6 volts not giving much light out anyway.

Bastard to get right. In the end to much on and offing and bending of brackets got it in nearly the right place. Ended up flush with the tail piece instead of sticking out 1cm like I planned.
That light is now scrapped, brother found me a aprillia rs125 tail light that is shallow enough to be mount directly to the tail piece and much neater.
Not been busy over the last week or so, got stuff disconnected from the engine bay of the starlet ready to take the engine out just as the really wet weather hits ๐
The Girlfriends micra broke down, no spark, only now I find out that these cars have a weak point in the ampilfier which is buried in the distributor. 300 fucking euro for a reconditioned one, it was damn lucky it started right up after i installed it, was tempted to rip it all out and install megasquirt to avoid future problems with the NATS as well.
RXS, fitting a different rear wheel.

But first, why is this tire bigger then the engine?

Had to let the air out again to fit the wheel.

the loncin honda 50 (110) is pretty much finished won’t have any light (no coil for it) and the gearing needs changing, it’s very revvy at 30mph

Right, here i have finished filing open the swingarm to accept the larger axle.

then i tired drilling out the holes in the rxs sprocket to fit the gs rear hub, stuff was way too tough, finally did it with a round file, although it’s not very accurate, it will do until i can afford a new custom one to fit.

Used my flat edge thing that i use for putting in engines, and measured thickness of the rim the offset of the edge of the rim to the sprocket face, from the sprocket face to the outer side of the spacer.

found out the center of the rim, and figure that i needed to move the gs rim over by 3mm (100.5mm to 97.5mm) also the sprocket needed moving in by 6mm

Well got that done in no time, just have to machine 3mm off the spacer and that moved the wheel over, the worst problem right here with taking metal off the sprocket carrier is that the sprocket is no longer aligned with the bearing, i may find a 6mm wider bearing to fit in, it also may cause no trouble at all, but the bearings were fairly seized in the first place so i expect some failure anyway.

Next the boring job of painting and hole fixing, i am amazed this thing kept any petrol in it at all.

That took a lot longer to do then to put up these two images. Filling the dents and holes will take even longer ๐

Back to the rear end, wheel all in now, made up the spacer on the right myself with a file and hacksaw it did not need to be as accurate as the left spacer.

Had to beat the old chain adjuster straight(er) to avoid touching the carrier (despite take 3mm off that as well)

Now with the tank in silver and most of the wheels, might i go with silver all over? was talking the other day and changed my mind again about the black/yellow idea for the wheels think i should do them a dark almost bronze gold now. Dunno.
rusty free 2cv

Drove car up to get it jump started and easy access to tools.

Looks a bit worse then last time.

Seat is hanging in midair.

The ender. once some prat starts ‘repairing’ rust holes with aluminmum plate and seam sealer it’s never gonna come back from the dead. Sad really if it was just plain rusty steel i could have tried welding it back together.
it might be free but arse to it, it’s only an 88,
Bombardier 125, RXS100 paint stripping.
Well the tee-peices are at the local engineering place, will cost me รขโยฌ25 to lenghen the stem, not to bad but once thats done gotta go shorten the forks. hope thats a little easier.

Brother got this for free, it’sรย massive for a 125, will try and put it in a aprilla rs125 frame. it’s from a go kart, check out the twin chain sprocket on the drive shaft! it had how much power?

quick inspection, shows it to be quite beaten up, but it should run quite fast for a short while.

with the engineering up to some one else i started on the boring bits, paint stripping!

Very manky wheels. they were always like this i never touched them.

What colors?รย since the tank tail piece and fairing are going to be red, i was thinking all yellow, then maybe black with yellow rim’s and now i think i have decided on black all over with the face of the spokes in yellow.

Left over nitromors was put on the tank. the paint has loads of lacquer on it. very tough.

See the little dark spot in the rust? hole ๐

That loncin’s gearchange has found a new place to work, we shall see how it goes when i can ride this bike again.
Next Update i’ll shall have a few pics of my latest car! i’ll give you two hints: it’s french and slow, take a guess!
Rxs front disc brake woes, 110cc honda 50,

Well it was still there in the morning.

So i got a start on the seat.

Fit’s lovely.

got distracted, need to cut off a bit of the aluminum side casing if i want to leave that footpeg on.

Had a break, remember that green loncin thing? yep engine barely in, the frame needs a little more angle grinder kisses.

Made better (easier to weld) brackets for the rear of the seat and tided up the front mount too.

mmm i can sit on it now with out holes appearing in my bum

Rear frame will have to be narrowed and pointed up ever so sightly.

loncin 110 engine is in! electric’s to be sorted now.

any one wanna buy some tires and wheels?

Polished it up, fitted new clutch cable, sorted a pair of standard handle bars and a mind blowing amount of other little things, it is now finally advertised.

Whilst trying to fix the front end bodgery of the rxs, this gn125 with it’s 32mm fork and proper pinch bolt upper yoke got broken.

Chrome is not in the best condition, but the big problem is all that length!

Just needs some ape’s, forward controls, replace the rear springs with a bar of steel, or maybe someone to hit me in the ass with a hammer it’s all the same really.

Where i want the front to be. 32mm forks are just the right size but there is just no way i can use em and even if i spent the time and money to shorten them the chrome is a little too shabby.
So back to fixing the 30mm front end (off a gs125 suzuki if you are wanting to know) hmm first things first the stem will need lengthening by approximately 1cm this is possible for me to do and might happen soon, not happening right away as i don’t have any money but soon, then i will have to get oily and take apart the forks to see how and where to shorten them, there are about the right length with the preload spacers taken out but there is sod all suspension travel. if i can sort the travel with out raising the ride height at all, i may just convert the top yoke (which is just a pressed piece of flat steel) into a proper pinch bolt setup and allow the forks to slide up a bit.
Huge post

Got to Teds first thing, Sean laid this thing on me,wanted me to weld a nut to the crank to get it apart, buggered the bolt i welded to it and then twice buggered the nut i welded to it and then the bolt again when i welded a lever to it. Not Gonna Budge.

Fixed horrible throttle, made clutch work, but it’s not very nice.

They are multiplying in there.

A good shot.
Went for that drive on the bandit, carburation is all over the place was running on three for a while and wouldn’t pull cleanly at the top of the rev range, obviously no one jetted it up when that pipe was fitted.
List of shit thats wrong:
01.Brakes rusted solid. (Fixed)
02.Fork seal leaking
03.Horn broken
04.Choke lever broken (won’t bother fixing i think)
05.Clutch cable seized (Worked on all day, still FUBAR, update, it broke ๐
06.Head bearings loose(Fixed and loads of grease added too)
07.Bent handlebars (Fixed, fourth set on it now)
08.Clutch switch broken( won’t bother with this either)
09.Clutch adjuster crushed (Fixed)
10.Indicator bulb missing
11.Tank needs repaint
12.Front tire needed (Fixed)
13.Rear tire need to be bedded in (Balled up rubber from a burnout still stuck to tire)
14.Scottoiler not working (Fixed)
15.Head Bearing lower needs grease (Fixed)
16.Kink in chain
17.New number plate
18. Find oil leaks
19.Oil is still all white
20.Oil throttle cable (Fixed)
21.Wheels need to be chemically cleaned
22.Whole bike need de-greaseing
23. I’m sure I’ll find some more. (in fact i did but i have forgotten them again)
All that was a couple of weeks ago, since then i have been busy fixing the garden up we need space for more garages lol.

Saved this, gotta bring it back to the go kart track some day this summer. Obviously with out any sort of cleaning being done.

(Right to left)trike,rxs100,rgv125,runner180,three honda frames,nrg50,three very rusty honda pressed steel frames, two cb650’s,xt350,runner125, pile of rs125’s and spare car tires. Theses are the good ones we kept. Saved the runner 125 because it’s front fork should fit the nrg50, and the left over engine case and frame will be a good starting point for any runner 180 mods.

loncin 107cc, the next big honda 50 steptru rally is about 2 months away, guess what engine ted will be wheeling about in? also he promised to help push on with that nsr/trike thing.

I planted a tree!

Hope it survies.

Saved from scrapman, rg80 foot rest converted to work on a rxs100.

Can you spot it yet?

How about now?

yep rgv125, this one i had and aircooled rd375 engine fitted, but back in the day i had no way of makeing the exhausts fit.

Whipped off the front end, saveing it for a future project.

Garden Cleared! the metal here filled an entire 4 axle 12 wheel truck. and the place still looks like shite.

So garden done for now, back to work, Sarges bike complied bastarding clutch broke.

Undid the whole front end, I seem to remember sarge fitting new head bearings. either he only did the top one or he just never actually put any grease on it.

Don’t like the old rg80 foot rest arrangement.

Chopped it all up and straighted the peg. ran out of time to do the other side.
So there, i’ve updated,รย ya happy now steve? ๐
Sarges Bandit
Got it started anyway, sounded quite nice, engine oil was all mayo so tomorrow a good thrash is needed, nothing at all to do with the nice weather we are have tomorrow. I’d do it in the rain. really.

Bit of degreaser sorted that quite easily.

Fixed the scottoiler, you can just about make out the metal guide wire installed in the pipe it was too far along and got stuck into the very narrow little black pipe. Don’t think it ever worked.

New bars, these are flat but i don’t want to take apart the gn125.

These look right but was too much of a bastard to get off, wire loom was in the bars.

So on went the gn bars. Needs a bit more adjusting.

Went to work on the clutch, this is the pushrod, cable was perfectly fine except it seems to have never known oil. Getting an over night soak right now.

Can’t quite make it out but he engine is now not covered in oil

Very messy work on sarges bike (there all manky) so my phone got a smear of oil on the camera part.
Leaky Bandit

Can’t work in the garage for the week, it’s full of bloody expensive bicycle’s.

Next cash cow, gotta fix and clean sarges old bike, allready fixed the brakes, put on a new front tire and cleaned the wheels.

Oil leak, not sure where it’s from, most bandit leak around here, probably on o-ring, arse to change. Hopefully when sarge change that side cover he fecked up the seal, that would be an easy fix. Fingers crossed.

can’t see it very well but there is a nice chunk taken out of the tank.

This should not be leakin. Sarge was at this last…

Where the hell has this thing been hideing? well it can’t hide there any longer, that van is for sale, maybe ted will get on it again sort himself a two-stroke for the summer?
TGB delivery and introducing ‘the’ RXS100
Two post’s in one hour? I am spoiling you!

More weird bolts, this one is designed to shear it’s own head off.

boringly it all went back together with out a hitch, started and ran fine, a nice little earner for me! (new boots? tax for the car? rsx big bore? how to decide..)

Ted wanted to remove a piece of the lean-to’s wall, it all has to come down for new shed’s and lo and behold this thing!

Some air in the tires, kick the brake caliper.

Doesn’t look good does it?

Would you believe it started? well it did! clutch was stuck and the carb full of crap, but yes it did run.
I like rat cars, but rat motorcycle never seem to have the same balls. so conversion into a stripped out skinny racer

Got some pipes that might do.

Literally dug these ace bars out from under the earth, be fine with a lick of paint.

lower tz350 fairing and honda rs125 upper, might skip the lower, we shall see

and a 28mm carb, just need something of substance to put it onto, i see some nice dt175 barrels out there on evilbay!
Been looking at 50cc racers and found some nice ideas for the way i want to go with the rxs, also Australian bucket racing is helpful.
BTW it is ‘the’ rxs100 beacuse this was my first bike, I rode it for at least 8years (seriously) can’t remember how many time’s i have torn it up think i may dig through the old photos and make a little history note for the old girl. nearly makes you stop before you chop haveing that much history with a bike, but then i remember i have crashed it 17 times, and stipped and rebuilt it over and over again so many time i genuinly think there is no original 93c4030 parts left on that bike in the pictures.
gl5 TGB delivery, and the cbr6
so i found out the tgb’s engine is a gl5. which means nothing. it’s probably a suzuki/morini engine so i ordered the part form a new zealand place, when it gets here i want it done soon, need the money.

Sticker nicked from sarges house. he’s never gonna own anything fast anyway.

got an f3 pipe for free, no dents in it or anything.

don’t fit though.

I think i see the problem..

cleaned my bike with a four star shirt ๐ it was a really nice day weather wise

bugged front tire you’ll note, changed that later but it was too dark for photos then.

gsxr wheel fits onto cbr6 spindle and has a speedo drive unlike a cbr6 f3 wheel. problem is I don’t have a gsxr speedo drive either ….

rg125 wheel feels it loss

and inadequacy

and size.

The money shot, i love gunmetal grey.
I have about 3 rg125 front wheels and discs, so i think i will put them on the gsxr wheel, being slightly smaller will help with fitting. or maybe i won’t fit them at all, i don’t really need it but it looks sooo gooood!
what else?
the starlet engine swap will be started some because i will have to drive a carina around for a while, and while the starlet is sitting idle it will be the best time to surprise it. especially since it broke down twice last sunday ๐
