tt-01e rc and cbr6 fix up

So the tt-01e kit turned up in the post finally, just after i kinda gave up on meccano thing, still might see the light of day some time in the summer ya never know.

Didn’t take any pics while putting it togther, too busy following instructions for once.

Done!, rock hard tyres and blackened rims with a permenant marker

One of the white one’s was bent and all the other rims had glued on rally block tyres, so my single chrome wheel went on.

Want to put on the scooby body but i figured that I’d be crashing and bashing anyway so I started with a body i don’t care for, think I’ll channel the body down 2cm’s and raise the front arch to clear the wheel. the rear will be over the wheel much like an extreme touring car.

Definition of a well used tyre. Got my damn moneys worth I tells ya.

170 width conti tyre went in fine, it might rub the right hand side of the hugger a bit will find out if it ever rolls again.

Dinner time!

I must admit the for a while there during the snow I was thinking of spending the insurance money on a van. But I’m better now, gsxr1100 and while I’m on that the cbr should get a turbo.

Rednex FTMFW

Seen this? Gone here? no? weil git an do ur reading boy!

Ahem, enough of that for a while been offered a tuk tuk (YeeHAW!!! sorry..) think i can only insure a 50cc on a bike policy, we shall see much insurance company twisting shall be done.

River of ice in the back garden, no amount of hopping around will make me go out and do much work, SAD is biting hard, hasn’t been this cold since i was born!

New pulley for the runner 180. no chrome on it hmm…

Noticed the acceleration picked up a little bit more, also bought harder clutch springs but didn’t install them, ice + race starts just a little too extreme right now

Post crash analysis

Apart from the cat scaring the shit outta me on a dark night, causing me to jerk my back into spasm and stopping my breathing again, I’ve been fine!

Christmas has come and gone and we’re now getting back to normal, haven’t done much too much ice and cold out there, went up to the garage to-day, 2″ thick sheet ice all up the road, The runner is light so at a crawl speed i made it fine.

Got my claim form sent off, the other guy has admitted liability so all that stands in my way of money is the efficiency of allianze. Almost positive that i want a gsxr1100w (watercooled 93-98). the clipons are above the top yoke so easily turned into a mile muncher, if i need the seat a little lower a gsxr750 tail piece and seat ought to fit (much nicer look too) 155bhp is probably way over the top, but hey throttle works both ways and I’ll still probably have the cbr6. Which is getting a fresh start with a bright red frame and a gunmetal grey engine and body work.

Managed to get the rear shocks on the jago, too damn frozen to do any more.

The whole point of going up to the garage today was to check if i had any delivery, and i did, yay!  Still waiting for the ebay seller to get back to me about that servo saver, mailed him again today. Would have the meccano RC going now but for the saver saver.

Screwed

Well that’s meant to be a servo saver, 15 days i waited and all i got was a screw?! it’s the screw’s fault it fell out of the package!. waiting for the ebay seller M.K.Models to get back to me, fingers crossed.

37!

No broken bits this time not even any skin, extremely bruised back though, bit tough to breath, sitting on couch with a board behind my back to ease the pain.

1222Image004

ejit made an illegal u-turn across my lane, alwell least i took a big chunk of it.

1222Image000

bit cold the other day!  clocks need setting straight they were always a bit bent looks a lot worse now with the screen to align them with.

1222Image002

1222Image001

125cc racer, note foldable pegs, large 90 tank, sticky rear tyre, can’t race this because its breaks the rules, but we might as well finish it now. Will bring it to watergrasshill to test it along side with my rxs100 probably next month since the race is feburary

It looks like a katana!

well i hope it does, some ejit will say it looks like a bmw

1216Image000

noticed my tak welds were good enough to support me hanging off the subframe, so i welded it a bit more and left it at that.

1216Image000

Sprayed it black

1216Image000

That too, cleanest it’s even been.

1216Image000

quick and dirty

1216Image000

was thinking reverse paint scheme, but that’s not gonna work, magnolia with black stripe all the way

1216Image000

bonus! clocks fit, might use em.

1216Image000

best looking angle, and the most important.

cbr6 get a new nose

Garage was a bit blocked up so i did some work outside.

1215Image001

Not too bad, can’t decide weather to shorten the nose or lower it, want it to have a hint of 80’s suzuki katana, might chop off the nose of old front mudguard.

1215Image002

tak welded together

1215Image003

Bit of adjustment todo, gonna be painted magnolia again, with a black stripe down the middle (or maybe another colour…..)

Jago axle

Got the axle off the jeep to weld up that tiny crack.

1214Image000

Struggled with the welder for a hour, trip blows if I turn it up to max (4) so at 3 I did the weld and it wasn’t pretty but it should do the job

1214Image001

Axle back in, lads at irishescortclub.com pointed out that a few vans didn’t have the spring pads either, there only there for comfort, so I chucked em. Not much comfort when you don’t have roof doors or a windscreen.

1214Image002

bout -1 this morning so after i knocked off the ice I used an old fourstar shirt to keep my arse from shattering, stayed in place great tucked under the strap, finally a use for seat straps!

ebay seller classicandmoderncarparts got back to me about the wheel cylinders, the sliding clips that hold the cylinder are no longer made, now i gotta find out if all 8″ drums use the same style cylinder or should i upgrade to a 9″ drum set.

1214Image003

The clips in question.

More english axle woes

Even I’m sick of it now.

1212Image000

Took for ever to wind on those nuts, but i didn’t want to chop the bolts until i have seen the ride height.

1212Image000

That piece on the bottom is meant to go above the spring and below the axle, it’s too thick meant for a multi leaf spring and I’m skipping the leaf mount pads anyway, hope the spring don’t crack. If it does it’s 5-link time! also in the pic you can see the ominous bit of oil on the axle….

1212Image000

1212Image000

Man wheels! hairy chested too!

1212Image000

Matt black rustoleum not so chip resistant as a gloss.

1212Image000

Couldn’t find an axle location pin (perhaps because i kept searching for a location bolt) it matters not since im not bothering with the leaf pads. the bolts edges would tear up the rubber.

1212Image000

It’s cracked, you can’t quite see it in the pic, it’s a hairline, and i would never has seen it except for when the axle was on it’s end in the garage getting painted, it leaked a tiny bit showing it up. (sorry bout the crap pic).

saw an atlas axle in Donegal for €220, maybe i should just redo the spring mount on that and slip it in, how hard can it be?

Oh fired off and email to an ebay seller about anglia wheel cylinders, if he has what i need i’ll just fit anglia bits, or maybe i really should get that atlas.

RC meccano

Feelin rusty sitting here waiting out the crap weather, needed to build something.

Suspension? we don’t need no stinkin suspension!.

1209Image000

1209Image000

needs a few bits:

hi-tec servo saver

better motor (locked diff needs power)

velco

gotta find ma fast battery’s (there red don’t know how i have missed ’em)

better get on the bay of e and sort it!

actually maybe i should clean up the room first swmbo will be back soon…

One more thing, nascar fiberglass bodies are cheap, bit long at 108″ wheelbase but might do the job over the jago chassis.
