BUSA spares!

Ahem enough of that now, as you can tell i’m a bit excited ๐Ÿ˜€ got for roughly 23% of what a 2006 busa is worth. Gotta get loads of parts but it money well invested.

Got the new plugs in, had to file down the plug spanner, very tight in there. they were the only part holding me back.

so now the air filter is in, only difficult bit left is to take out the exhaust studs and replace em with bolts. once i got the tank and side panel on idecided to give the engine a spin over, no power ๐Ÿ™ more stuff added to the list

cbr6 rebuild pt billion+1

Taking small bit’s out of the rebuild, so i’ve stop numbering it

Wiring loom snug next to the carbs, forgot to take a side pic but it’s nice should have tried this ages ago. Comes out under the frame by the radiator hose.

Battery box and finalised wiring loom. Note the worn foot peg rubber.

ass end in, note the right peg is brand new, found it out the back, both grips are like new as well so i’ve got to find a new left hand peg to make it good.

To much extra wiring loom, used to hide it behind the big nose, that’s not there now.

Niki’s tank, gonna be hard bodgeing to fix this. Not so easy to find a ez/gpz500 tank in he breakers.

Brother sprayed some spare cheap paint over my weller looks nice not sure what to match it with.

๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ BUSA! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

๐Ÿ™‚ should be picking it up tomorrow, got if for an unreal price, I won’t believe there’s not some sort of hitch until I have the logbook in my hand. it’s a ’06 low mileage good tyres have to buy a head lamp and bend the bracket got spare slightly damaged fairings and the standard exhaust pipes ,รขโ€šยฌ70 extra, but probably worth it, I’ll see how loud those pipes on it are first.

cbr6 rebuild pt4

Much work done, little to show for it, wiring is in but needed redoing twice, first the back piece had to be put behind the subframe and now the front piece which is normally outside the frame has to go inside, because the previous owner chopped off the mounting buttons for it. Gotta chop off the ignition barrel to the wiring fit in and around the holes of the frame, more work but it will look very tidy when it’s done.

Ripped the nose off the dr750 nose piece, much better. have to find a katana nose piece to fit on now.

Didn’t take any more pics after that got in a bit of a frenzy fitted the carbs rear tail piece battery box foot pegs and tore into the old cbr to canablize it airbox and coolant tank.

I’m still in high gear right now all excited about picking up the new bike tomorrow, finding out howto remove the 186mph limit oh and it’s got efi so i’m all plans and hamster wheels in my head right now ๐Ÿ˜€

cbr6 pt3

gold and red, classic

threw bits of body work on while chatting bollocks with sarge and didn’t do much else, the combination of magnolia bodywork and ice white wheels are blegh. the red is much better in real life, it’s so red the phone camera can’t take it.

cbr6 rebuild pt2

if there’s enough parts left over I’m gonna make a hypermotard out of what’s left, fit a tank under the seat make the seat really far forward nearly on top of the carbs and fit some crosser bars, looks like i am missing all the spacers though.

it was like archaeology, shovels were used.

and that took all day!

na i got more stripped off the old cbr and fitted the new swingarm in and bolted up the engine and rear shock, to beat to take photos ๐Ÿ™‚

cbr6 rebuild pt1

Very red ain’t it? brother spayed a bit of lacquer on it, looks great on the swingarm (which dried properly in the car) but not so great on the frame (which stayed out side)

chuck a few bolts in, missing a few spacers.

Began stripping the old cbr, wire loom has to come out under the frame spar.

i can see why people like short bike with high tails, but it only looks good when your standing very close and it looks worse when some one looks as you drive along.

why does my phone keep losing the ends of photos? this is the wireing loom off.

Didn’t get much done today, was half planning to get both cbr’s running keep the old one as a track bike and the new one as a daily driver, but it looks like I’m missing to many bits, which is a bugger to be honest, anyway will go like hell tomorrow, throw the bike on the ground and just git er done.

whole lotta red frame

went dull over the weekend in the shed, to much moisture in the air i reckon, heated it in the sun and gave it a second coat.

then put it in my homebuilt oven, get lots of warm sun in there ๐Ÿ™‚

And today, check that redness, triflow gate paint ftw!

Started on the main frame too, it’s in the car now to will take it out on friday/thurs give it the second coat and shove it back in the car to set, might thin a layer of paint to make sure the see able bits are the best. or not.

Bombardier 125 in an Aprilia rs125 frame

My version of nabs “island mist” photos

I call it “steaming turd”

Bombardier rotax 125 rescued from a go kart and shoved into a rs125 frame? sweet!

Brother is building this thing so who knows what it going to look like when done, asked steve for a lend of a reverse cylinder tzr250 pipe to see if it might do.

On with the cbr rebuild

Spent 20 buying some etch primer for the frame and engine. what the hell was i thinking? am i really gonna notice that the paint isn’t very good while im riding? probably only crash it with such nice paint anyway.

Also I am not spending days cleaning the whole thing up. No. I’d have it built in the same amount of time.

did use a little nitromors to clear the old nitromors off the frame.

tada! rusty gate red, god I hope it’s doesn’t turn out like a clown car.

tt-01e rc and cbr6 fix up

So the tt-01e kit turned up in the post finally, just after i kinda gave up on meccano thing, still might see the light of day some time in the summer ya never know.

Didn’t take any pics while putting it togther, too busy following instructions for once.

Done!, rock hard tyres and blackened rims with a permenant marker

One of the white one’s was bent and all the other rims had glued on rally block tyres, so my single chrome wheel went on.

Want to put on the scooby body but i figured that I’d be crashing and bashing anyway so I started with a body i don’t care for, think I’ll channel the body down 2cm’s and raise the front arch to clear the wheel. the rear will be over the wheel much like an extreme touring car.

Definition of a well used tyre. Got my damn moneys worth I tells ya.

170 width conti tyre went in fine, it might rub the right hand side of the hugger a bit will find out if it ever rolls again.

Dinner time!

I must admit the for a while there during the snow I was thinking of spending the insurance money on a van. But I’m better now, gsxr1100 and while I’m on that the cbr should get a turbo.

Post crash analysis

Apart from the cat scaring the shit outta me on a dark night, causing me to jerk my back into spasm and stopping my breathing again, I’ve been fine!

Christmas has come and gone and we’re now getting back to normal, haven’t done much too much ice and cold out there, went up to the garage to-day, 2″ thick sheet ice all up the road, The runner is light so at a crawl speed i made it fine.

Got my claim form sent off, the other guy has admitted liability so all that stands in my way of money is the efficiency of allianze. Almost positive that i want a gsxr1100w (watercooled 93-98). the clipons are above the top yoke so easily turned into a mile muncher, if i need the seat a little lower a gsxr750 tail piece and seat ought to fit (much nicer look too) 155bhp is probably way over the top, but hey throttle works both ways and I’ll still probably have the cbr6. Which is getting a fresh start with a bright red frame and a gunmetal grey engine and body work.

Managed to get the rear shocks on the jago, too damn frozen to do any more.

The whole point of going up to the garage today was to check if i had any delivery, and i did, yay!ร‚ย  Still waiting for the ebay seller to get back to me about that servo saver, mailed him again today. Would have the meccano RC going now but for the saver saver.
