Busa tweaking
Just a bit misaligned, looks like the left is down a bit, but the top of the windscreen is too high on the left, reckon the left side needs to be squashed a bit closer together. I can ebay new fairing for Γ’βΒ¬430, will save up and have a shiny bike maybe next year π Also just realised I can now paint the old fairing’s silly colours π
This turned up, hadn’t a clue who owned it.
Stuff done again, surprisingly.
Niki took back his vl125 and the kawa’s getting a paint job
With Sean’s help got the tca’s out of the escorts legs, pleasantly surprised that there actually quite light the weight seems to be all in the legs/hubs, I can replace the hubs with alloy ones to get even less unsprung weight. Going with all steel suspension, no rubber!
Found this jago:

More busa cleaning and more bloody cruisers.
Started today by going out and getting the welder back from sarges garage, the tuk tuk will have to wait until we get the metal.
Finally did the rear brake pads, and then while I was at it I fixed the tank protector on properly and clean the right hand side of the bike (didn’t wanna get too over worked)
then went on to niki’s bike, plug was blown from running to rich, so the choke cable was unstuck and..
the air filter cleaned. took a fair bit of head scratching to figure it all out but we wanted to make sure that the blown plug wasn’t from over tight tappets or any thing. engine smokes a bit now but then it does have 57000km on the clock.
Ass of the jago is off the ground, it’s really tall. crazy chassis mods needed?
Rescued these from behind the garage, the gsxf is mine now.
Then i went home just as it started raining my my (half) clean busa π
WCMCC drag races.
Guards had a check point setup out side the viaduct before anyone got to the race, i went around the long way. have some pics.
only one pic of a drag bike, nokia couldn’t really handle much else, lots of turbo busa there, this year the hedge was trimmed so we could see really well what was going on on track, lights weren’t working though, so it was a girl with a flag kinda racing with everyone creeping and a few premature take off’s, flags are meant to go down lads not up!
Parked my busa right next to one with the same colour, just to make mine look worse π
painted my mums windows, not very exciting is it?
lots of small thing done this week, fixed the garage door where the tuk tuk is kept, sorted sarges girl friends rebel 125 (bloody cruisers), put brake pads and speedo cable on the cbr, caned the busa to the point of scary wheelspin every where, rear tyres not lookin so good any more and I’ve ran out of petrol again..
Dirty busa
haven’t even use 2 tanks of petrol yet and it’s manky, also lubeing the chain yourself sucks, scottoiler ftw!
Put all the fairings on, right side fitted fine, but left side was a disaster, looks like the upper fairing cage is still a bit bent.
Must retire busa
cold tyres, need to overtake, loads of gas at 100km, pass car sideways, had a silly grin for a while after that but really… ffffuuuuu
Need to make a little money to get the cbr back on to daily driver duty, rear tyre, speedo cable and front brake pads about Γ’βΒ¬204. So fixed some mopeds by swapping good parts from the one with the dead engine to the crashed one, changed the boxs around and by god there heavy, also massive space for a wooden flat bed there to0, redneck moped!
sunshine, snow and big ends.
niki’s vl125 had no spark this morning, so yet again there was a mad rush to get something running so he can go to work
Snow intervened, weird because it’s actually a nice day. i was going to put the busa fairings on but with all the running about for niki and the snow i just gave up.
Niki also killed another fourstar bike, low oil and a stupid oil tank design that lets the oil flow away from the outlet when going up hills means the brass from the cage of the big end melted and ended up fouling the plug. Thats two dead ones now, both from lack of oil.
Tuk tuk, more work
Finally got the metal and the welder in the same place, pissed rain tho.
Got one crappy patch done.
that took all day, rust is very hard to weld to.
Next day we tried to flip it fully over to do more welding.
Much closer inspection and i’ve decided to skip to plan 1.1 and make new frame rails from the headstock to a good section of the chassis, I don’t trust that I can make the neck strong enough with out basically replacing the whole front end of the chassis, much of it is triple plated sheet and i can’t be sure that the sheet in the middle is any good and hence structurally sound, after all I’m hardly gonna just cruise around I’ll be totally flat out just trying to keep up with traffic. Measured up the fx400r engine, looks like it will be sticking out the back by about the length of whatever diff I find, so probably at worst 10″ which we can live with.
swap one bike and start three more projects
gpz500: it won’t run very well after it’s eaten it’s own (23 year old) airfilter….
NEWS: Since i now own the fastest bike in the world, do i really need the ypvs to put into the xt350? dad has been wanting it for ages, so hes’ gonna put the tzr250 suspension bits on it and tidy it all up, the brother is gonna get the fathers rd375 with it’s long alloy tank and other trick bits so he can finish his own rd thing and i’m gonna put the tzr250 engine into the xt350(sorry choco should have been quicker), also i get this gsxf600, which i can’t decide right now but it looks like it might go into the jago, it’ll be a little two wide for the tuk tuk so thats almost certainly getting the fx400r engine and if the jago isΓΒ not fast enough, bigger suzuki’s share the same engine mounts, easy upgrades.
Decisions decisions decisions….
