So, while poking around i found this engine not doing much in the garden, after some research it’s not very good, but! It does share the engine mount pattern with a bunch of better engines that i can get (cb300rl is one)<\/p>\n

Some browsing led me to the ybs300, 11000 rpm DOHC, 6 speed, balancer shaft, 20 something kw at the crank, which should be about 20bhp at the rear wheel. The perfect number for a fun bike!<\/p>\n

ka blammo, it’s in.<\/p>\n

Now it’s just sitting there a bit crooked, the rg125 top mount will need to be chopped out, no surprise there, but the engine is a smidge too high, so it looks like the front bottom frame rails will have to be squared off a little, that means no more rg125 for this frame \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n
