Didnt get up to much, late hangover intervention.

Did finish dimitri’s bike and sort out my camchain though.
Steampimpin. fo sure
need choons buoy?

Crapod?

steampimp?

Not shown is a tiny little creative zen, for the choons obviously.
Monday
Fix that sill!

Jack up the car to make it easier to weld. higher the better.

Note the whole rear suspension is an ARB, think i could make it stiffer. then i can shorten the springs even more with out the fear of springs unseating during hard cornering.

Rusty!

Hole-ly!

Too small to be a Dave Roberts ‘exploratory incision’ but then again i don’t have a shitacular ford.

Don’t have any krust or weld though primer so..

Out with the hammerite, which is buried in the back right by that bulmers bottle..

Better.

While waiting for that to dry abit i pulled out my front sill lip(?)

afterwards gave it a coat of hammerite too.

Then it rained.. again.. every time i weld……

Didn’t do a great job of the patch plate.

Welding wasn’t too hard (except for the upside down bit)

Stop to rescue some seca bits for my mom, all the back yard ‘spares pile’ is gone

Crap photo of some crap welding but it is solid, will make a better patch for the other side.
rear arch is a bit shit, but at least i have some options when it come to fixing that (offroad archs or widebody? hmmm)
RWD FTW!
SO i saw an ad for 3 triumph dolomites, €1800, in Dublin, called ted and let him know since i knew he might need some spares.
after a while i got to thinking that maybe getting myself some 70′s pile of BL crap might be a good idea, instead of converting
my fwd starlet to rwd it may be possible to insure a 30 year old car these days since insurance has gotten a bit better. 30 year
old cars are tax free so i could have a 2 liter, it would be no problem. Probably.
Teds dolomite sprint automatic 1 of 50 made (autos that is not dolomite sprints):

Shove out the shite engines they came with and stuff it with a more likely 1.8cvh from a sierra, i’d be happy enough with
that, if it can’t be saved from the rust bunnys i could use the running gear in another shell, like my starlet
again avoiding
the tax problems and keeping it rwd
When i went to look em up in the buyandsell i saw cheap spirfires, heralds, and dolomites. they were cheap enough too
so the future may be BL and breakdowns for me…
Ted has also gone a litte further on with his rd/tz 375 project, footpegs are a problem, can’t put them high enough
because of his false leg. I offered to make a new leg but i was turned down. Probably would have turned out like the
titanic anchor anyway.

Got a good pic of Aines monster 900..

Monday
Makeing sure the seat is properly attached to your car is a good thing, even if it has never ever been.
First up, make patches out of a horrible British Leyland van.

Weld in patches, try not to weld rust and keep the torch straight.

Crap welding or what?
Rain stops play

While it rains chip away useless floor stuff. (you can just buy a hammer, you don’t have to make a special one
just to remove insulation). Sharp small chisel important.

Tired of waiting for the rain to stop, i moved the welder into the car and finished up the patching with hammerite

Hammerite, covering up bodges since time began.
Next week i might do the sills, then on to the electrics
then the NCT
